Good Harness
This is a good harness, fits well and built very well; and this is what I appreciate the most from this harness, the quality of build. Additionally, Kurgo is pro-active in improving their designs with feedback from customers – this is something else I appreciate in a company, look for the new version of this harness, its even better! The harness is easy to adjust, very easy to put on and I love the fact that the force of a pull is distributed over a large surface area (chest of dog). I use this primarily as a seat belt/restraint while my puppy is in my car and it doubles as a harness for when I take my puppy out to dog park/beach. It seems to be very comfortable for my dog – he runs around without seeming to notice it, and he LOVES to run. It is also very durable – its been in the ocean numerous times and many hikes and it has held up very well.
Price of the harness is very reasonable and on par with other harnesses. If you want a harness that can be used as a seat belt/restraint as well as for walking, this is a very good overall harness, I recommend it.
**UPDATE:
I wrote an update as a comment but just found the “Edit” button so I can update my experience with this harness. I still stand by the good design of the harness and it has proven to be durable. However, the metal parts of the harness are now starting to rust after several beach excursions. I had thought the metal parts were nickel plated brass but apparently not. The rust is mainly cosmetic (surface rust) and I do not expect the strength of the oversized buckles to be affected but it certainly does make me want to reflect this experience in my review.
So here is my updated recommendation. If you plan on using this harness in the ocean, then you may want to look at another harness that uses either brass (nickel plated or otherwise) or stainless steel for their metal parts. I didn’t notice any rusting while my pup was running around in the creeks during hikes and it was only after we started going to the beach more often that this came up. So, I would suspect that the plating on the steel parts would not show rust if it is not exposed to salt water.

I LOVE this product for my dog. No more wobbliness in the back seat. No more worries when we go around a corner or slow down. She is safe and secure with her Kurgo TruFit Smart dog harness. LOVE IT! And she doesn’t mind it either. It allows her to lay down and to switch viewing sides. Just perfect!
Good fit for my 100 lb hound !
This seat belt/harness is as described. Good fit for my 100lb hound. This harness was my 3rd attempt at getting a perfect seat belt/harness for my dog, wish I would have tried this one first would have saved a lot of hassle with returning the other 2. Plus it’s really easy to put on.
Mostly good . . .
I like the Harness itself, has good coverage for my doggie and i dont worry about it pinching him, but I think that it still needs to be improved a little. I really like having the seatbelt attachment but it dosent work as well as I had hoped. It might work better if my dog acually would sit on the seat like the dog in the picture, but my boy is a lie-down car rider. The seatbelt attachement also dosnet prevent him from trying to climb into the front seat, the seatbelt will still give enough for him to reach.
Bonus: It can however just be used as a harness! For a walking harness it is wonderful, i prefer it over the collar, dosn’t hurt my dog, but he can still pull when walking with the harness on.
The fit was good, and there is a wide range of fit available for this harness, it is very adjustable and easy to put on, no crazy mis-placed straps.
